We want to make switching your accounts to Iowa Community Credit Union hassle-free for you with 4 simple steps. When you join the Credit Union, your family members are also eligible to join. That means your spouse, children, parents, sisters, brothers, grandparents, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and cousins can take advantage of all the benefits and service of Iowa Community Credit Union no matter where they live.
STEP #1 - OPEN YOUR ACCOUNTS WITH IOWA COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION
Once you fill out the MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION, mail it or drop it off at the branch that is the most convenient for you and we will have the paperwork all ready for your signature when you stop in at your convenience. Click HERE for a list of our branches and their operating hours.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING WITH YOU TO JOIN:
- Your Government Issued Photo ID (Driver's License, Military ID, Passport)
- Your Social Security Card or other form of ID that has your SSN & Name
STEP #2 - TRANSFER YOUR AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS TO YOUR NEW ACCOUNT
Once you've opened your ICCU account, fill out the AUTOMATIC PAYMENT CHANGE NOTIFICATION FORM for each company that pulls payment out of your account automatically. This will notify them to transfer your automatic payments from your previous financial institution to your new account at Iowa Community Credit Union.
STEP #3 - TRANSFER YOUR DIRECT DEPOSITS TO YOUR NEW ACCOUNT
Once you've opened your ICCU account, fill out the DIRECT DEPOSIT CHANGE NOTIFICATION FORM for each company that deposits directly into your account. This will notify them to begin depositing into your new account at Iowa Community Credit Union instead of your old financial institution.
STEP #4 - CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNTS WITH YOUR OLD FINANCIAL INSTITUTION
Before closing your old account, make sure that all of your checks have cleared and all automatic payments and direct deposits have been stopped or redirected to your new account at Iowa Community Credit Union. This may take a few weeks or so. Once you are sure that your old account is inactive, fill out the CLOSE ACCOUNT REQUEST FORM and send it to your old financial institution. Destroy your old checks, deposit slips, ATM &/or debit cards at this time.
